SKITTLES AND FISH ‘N CHIPS
More than thirty Members and Friends got together for a jolly skittles and fish ‘n chips evening in February. The response bowled us over. Everyone joined in the individual tournament, and then settled down to enjoy a glass or two together with freshly caught fish and chips – laid out on sheets of newspaper, naturally. The competition was fierce, but in the end our star bowler was David Anderson, closely followed by Pete Haggett, with Joyce Alcock in third place. Our thanks to Sue Bolden for organising the event, John Barker for keeping the scores – not an easy task as the evening wore on! – and to the two young ‘sticker uppers’ who spent the evening replacing the bowled-over skittles.
